Jesus is God who became human to reconcile humans to God

We were made to be part of God’s family

At the beginning of time, God made everything perfect. We were in perfect relationship with him, with each other, and with the world.

But our relationship with God is broken

But we rebelled against God, and broke those relationships. Now everything in the world is tainted by sin and death.

So God became a human named Jesus

But God loves us so much He became the God-man Jesus, and he lived a perfect life, free from all rebellion against God.

He sacrificed himself for us

Because he was perfect, he didn’t deserve to die, but he chose to experience death and punishment in our place.

But then he was resurrected to become king over all

He didn’t stay dead, but was resurrected to a new kind of perfect life. Because of his actions he gained power over everything, even over death.

He invites us all to give him our believing loyalty

Now all people can join themselves to him by believing that Jesus is God and worshiping him. Those who do become Christians.

Everyone who does becomes part of God’s family again

A Christian becomes part of God’s family once more, united to Christ and to other Christians, and given power to live in harmony with God.

And they will all one day be resurrected just like him

And Christians also benefit from Jesus’ defeat of death. One day we will experience resurrection and live with him and with each other forever.

God, I acknowledge I have acted in rebellion against you and that I am separated from you with no power to be reconciled to you on my own. But I believe that Jesus is Lord, and I believe that he died and rose again for me. So I ask you to save me, Jesus. I put my faith in you and no other, and I will follow you for the rest of my life so I can spend eternity with you.
